Baker brace seals points
Longford Town 3 Bohemians 0
Dessie Baker scored twice today as Longford beat managerless Bohemians for the third time this season before their smallest league crowd of the year.
Baker volleyed Longford in front on 37 minutes after Bohs’ keeper Matt Gregg could only parry away Sean Prunty’s fiercely-struck shot.
Town doubled their lead within two minutes when Thomas Heary, in attempting to clear, headed into his own net off a post from Baker’s corner.
Baker might had added a third within a further minute, but Gregg dived full stretch to push away his volley.
The closest Bohs came to getting back into it came on 64 minutes when Jason McGuinness shaved the bar with a long-range free-kick.
But Baker saved the best for last when driving home Town’s third goal on 92 minutes after Dave Mooney headed down Alan Kirby’s cross.
