Dyer on bench for Cup clash

Midfielder Kieron Dyer could make his first senior appearance for Newcastle since April in tonight’s Carling Cup clash with Portsmouth.

Manager Glenn Roeder has been expected to keep the 27-year-old England international under wraps for a few more days following six months on the sidelines with his hamstring problem.
