Late push from Cork seals win
Cork City 2 Sligo Rovers 0
Goals from Billy Woods and Roy O'Donovan inside the last 20 minutes got Cork back on track for Europe at Turner’s Cross tonight.
Sligo keeper Richard Brush saved well from O’Donovan before Paul McTiernan wasted the visitors’ best chance when shooting over the bar in a poor first half.
The game turned inside 60 seconds on the 70th minute mark. Sligo’s Faz Kuduzovic missed a sitter at one end before Cork broke with Neal Horgan setting up Woods to drive home the opener.
O’Donovan added the second goal on 87 minutes.
