Ameobi facing fitness test

Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder will make a late check on striker Shola Ameobi before naming his side to face Levadia Tallinn in the UEFA Cup tomorrow night.

Ameobi has been struggling for some time with a hip injury and is likely to be replaced by recent acquisition Antoine Sibierski if he does not make it, with loan signing Giuseppe Rossi ineligible.
