Zura reassures misfiring Miller
Maciej Zurawski has assured strike partner Kenny Miller he has nothing to fear in his quest for Celtic goals.
The summer signing has failed to find the net in 14 matches – including nine summer friendlies – but the Poland international forward believes the Scotland striker can take encouragement from his own difficult start at Parkhead.
Zurawski failed to score in his first five competitive games after completing his move from Wisla Krakow but finished the double-winning campaign with 20 goals.
Miller found himself under more pressure following a debut winner for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink against Hibernian on Saturday but Zurawski has promised the goals will come.
He told the Celtic View: “When I first arrived here last season it was not good for me in those first few games.
“There were no goals and it was difficult.
“But the end of the season it was a different story and I think Kenny will be the same.
“There are no goals coming for him just now but it will be a big relief for him when the first one comes.
“I got my first Celtic goal at Dunfermline and it was a great feeling.
“It meant I could relax a bit more and I could stop thinking about it.
“Kenny has a lot of ability and will be an important player for us.
“I’m certain he will score goals for Celtic for years to come.”
Celtic should discover today if they have signed Thomas Gravesen after the deal suffered a hitch.
