Henry and Lehmann gunning for selection
Arsenal will welcome back captain Thierry Henry and goalkeeper Jens Lehmann for tomorrow’s trip to Manchester City.
The pair were rested in midweek for the Champions League qualifier, but Freddie Ljungberg will sit out the trip north after just coming back from an ankle injury.
Fit-again summer signing Tomas Rosicky returns to the squad and could make his Barclays Premiership debut, but there is no place again for want-away winger Jose Antonio Reyes – who has a groin injury – or defender Ashley Cole.
Theo Walcott is in contention to make a first start after impressing as a substitute, but Gael Clichy (foot), Philippe Senderos (shoulder), Abou Diaby (ankle) and Lauren (knee) are all longer-term absentees.
Provisional squad: Lehmann, Almunia, Hoyte, Eboue, Toure, Djourou, Fabregas, Gilberto, Rosicky, Hleb, Van Persie, Adebayor, Henry, Walcott, Flamini, Aliadiere, Cygan, Traore, Song.
