Hoddle meeting delayed
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has been delayed in his bid to persuade Glenn Hoddle to reconsider his decision to step down as manager.
The two were due to meet for talks today after the former England boss tendered his resignation on Saturday, but discussions have now been put back, with Hoddle citing a âfamily issueâ for his no show.
âGlenn has informed me that he has a family issue he needs to deal with today and so he is unable to make the meeting,â Moxey told the clubâs official website www.wolves.co.uk.
âHe has said he will contact me later today (Monday) to confirm when he will be available to meet. In the meantime, the board of directors are drawing up a plan of action.â
The delay means that Hoddleâs assistant, Stuart Gray, will be in charge of the squad when they fly out to Spain for a pre-season training camp later today.
Gray has been installed as an early favourite to succeed his former boss if he does indeed leave Molineux, alongside veteran midfielder Paul Ince, who had been due to discuss his future at Wanderers with Hoddle and Moxey.
He will not travel to Spain with the rest of the squad and is now out of contract.
