Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after his touchline altercation with match officials during the recent clash with rivals Leeds United.

Warnock was sent to the stands by referee Graham Poll after reacting angrily to a tackle on Craig Short by Leeds defender Gary Kelly.

The Blades boss has until May 12 to respond to the charge and if found guilty could be forced to watch the start of United’s Barclays Premiership campaign from the stands.
