Wright: Owen fitness not a worry

Ian Wright has backed Michael Owen to lead England towards World Cup success this season despite concerns over the fitness of the Newcastle striker.

Owen, the leading goalscorer in the current national squad, has been injured since December with a fractured metatarsal but former England striker Wright has no concerns with starting him in attack for this summer’s tournament.
