Wenger hungry for more European success

Arsenal have developed a taste for success in Europe this season and manager Arsene Wenger is confident their hunger will continue to grow.

Wenger’s emerging side progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history after they secured a goalless draw against Italian giants Juventus in Turin last night.

The Gunners were in the driving seat following a 2-0 victory from the first leg at Highbury.

It was an advantage they never looked like throwing away as the Serie A leaders once again failed to live up to their billing, with midfielder Pavel Nedved sent off late on.

Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was rarely troubled as the Barclays Premiership club produced another solid, all-round defensive display to secure a clash with Spanish side Villarreal for the right to take on either Barcelona or AC Milan in the final in Paris.

The Arsenal boss declared: “Now we have a big appetite and want to play well again in the semi-final against Villarreal.”
