Horsfield puzzled at Blades snub

Geoff Horsfield has criticised Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock as he waits for a move away from Bramall Lane.

Geoff Horsfield has criticised Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock as he waits for a move away from Bramall Lane.

The 32-year-old striker has barely featured for the Blades since arriving from West Brom in February and he is hoping another club takes over his deal before today’s loan deadline.

“Warnock wants to get rid of me,” said Horsfield. “He told me that he cannot see me getting into the team now or next season.

“Then he told me he didn’t want me near his club and to train at home.

“I’m gutted to be honest. I’ve absolutely no idea why this has happened.”

Under the terms of the deal, United must pay the Baggies £1.2m (€1.7m) for Horsfield this summer. The Blades only have until the loan deadline passes to find another buyer for the forward.
