Reyes out for Gunners

A hamstring injury ruled Jose Antonio Reyes out of Arsenal’s Barclays Premiership meeting with Liverpool at Highbury.

Abou Diaby was also sidelined with an ankle injury he suffered in training but Arsene Wenger was able to call upon Emmanuel Adebayor in attack. He was ineligible for their Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez made a number of changes from the side which lost at home to Benfica in the Champions League in midweek.

Fernando Morientes, Djimi Traore and Harry Kewell were all omitted from the starting line-up with Jan Kromkamp, Dietmar Hamann and Sami Hyypia selected instead.
