O'Shea back for United

John O’Shea will make his comeback from fractured ribs in Manchester United’s reserves match against Everton tonight.

John O’Shea will make his comeback from fractured ribs in Manchester United’s reserves match against Everton tonight.

The Republic of Ieland international has been out since picking up the injury in the Barclays Premiership win over Liverpool on January 22.

But providing he comes through tonight’s test without a problem, O’Shea will be back in contention for a place in United’s Carling Cup Final squad this weekend.

His return could not be better timed – given the midfield injury crisis which has enveloped Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad, with both Alan Smith and Paul Scholes now missing for the remainder of the season.
