Gerrard remains a Reds doubt

Steven Gerrard is still a major doubt with a knee injury for Liverpool’s Barclays Premiership trip to local rivals Wigan – but Robbie Fowler is in line to start his first match since returning to the club.

Spanish midfielder Luis Garcia had a 45-minute run-out in the reserves’ 0-0 draw with Bolton last night, a clear attempt to give him match practice after a recent knee injury.
