Scholes is fine, say United

Manchester United have rejected claims Paul Scholes is suffering from a cyst and partial blindness.

The former England star has been absent from the Red Devils line-up since suffering a bang on the head during the Premiership draw with Birmingham on December 28.

Scholes was not part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side for tonight’s Carling Cup semi-final at Blackburn, only heightening fears over the 30-year-old’s health.

However, United officials have insisted Scholes’ problem is nothing more than a slight amount of blurred vision.

“Paul has blurred vision in one eye,” said a United spokesman.

“He has definitely not got a cyst and he is not suffering from any degree of blindness but clearly he cannot play until his vision is completely clear.”
