Bruce apologises after wave of criticism

Steve Bruce has insisted he intended no offence to Birmingham fans by waving to Manchester United supporters during the second half of the Carling Cup clash at St Andrews last night.

Bruce was booed by a section of home followers after he acknowledged chants of ‘Brucey, Brucey give us a wave’ from United fans for whom he was a hero during a successful time as an Old Trafford player.
