Morrison could make Rovers return
Middlesbrough midfielder James Morrison has a chance of keeping his place for tomorrow night’s Carling Cup quarter-final against Blackburn despite being carried from the pitch unconscious on Sunday.
The teenager was left with concussion and a black eye after an accidental clash with Tottenham’s Robbie Keane, but has suffered no lasting damage and could be available for the visit of Rovers.
Chris Riggott returns from suspension and Emanuel Pogatetz has shaken off a groin problem, but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (hamstring) remains a doubt and Szilard Nemeth and Stuart Parnaby (both hamstring), Stewart Downing and Ray Parlour (both knee), Gaizka Mendieta (calf) and Tony McMahon (shoulder) are still on the sidelines.
Provisional squad: Schwarzer, Jones, Bates, Queudrue, Pogatetz, Southgate, Riggott, Ehiogu, Wheater, Boateng, Doriva, Morrison, Rochemback, Johnson, Kennedy, Yakubu, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Maccarone.
