Byrne most expensive eircom League player?

Shelbourne star and Republic of Ireland international Jason Byrne is set to become the most expensive eircom League player ever if a deal worth about €600,000 with Swedish side Djurgardens can be finalised.

Byrne is cousin to Robbie Keane and has been the Premier Division's top scorer for the last three seasons after his move from Bray Wanderers.

Bray will also get a cash windfall if the move goes through.
