Zenden ruled out for rest of season
Liverpool midfielder Boudewijn Zenden is likely to miss the rest of the season after learning he must undergo surgery on a cruciate ligament injury.
The Dutchman joined the Reds in the summer on a Bosman free transfer from Middlesbrough but his Anfield career has already been disrupted by injury.
And after damaging his ligament in the recent Champions League clash at home to Real Betis, the 29-year-old must fly to America for an operation on Wednesday.
He will see renowned football specialist Doctor Richard Steadman in Colorado.
A club spokesman told www.liverpoolfc.tv: “Unfortunately, it is unlikely that ‘Bolo’ will play again this season.”
