Alaves snap up Elton

Alaves have signed attacking midfielder Elton Giovanni Machado from Brazilian side Santos.

The 22-year-old has represented Brazil at U17, U21 and U23 level.

Elton does not hold an EU passport, so will be unable to play for his new club until the 2006/2007 season, and the club is looking to loan him out elsewhere in Europe until then to gain experience.
