Fans show appreciation for Best

Manchester United fans got the chance to say their farewells to Old Trafford legend George Best with a minute’s applause before this afternoon’s Premiership clash with West Ham at Upton Park.

Football grounds around the country had yesterday also marked the passing of the Northern Ireland international, who died, aged 59, on Friday following a long battle against alcoholism.
