Longford snatch fifth place

Longford finished with two wins to snatch fifth place in the table with this deserved win at Richmond Park. Robbie Doyle shot wide for Saints before Town enjoyed a good spell to take their lead on 35 minutes. Danny O’Connor hit the Saints' bar on the half hour.

But it was a mere reprieve as Andy Myler latched onto Steven Gough’s long ball to lob Brendan Clarke.

Sean Dillon doubled Town’s lead on the stroke of half-time when poking home.

O’Connor added the third on the hour before Saints’ Sean O’Connor got their consolation goal four minutes from the end.
