Aston Villa defender Jlloyd Samuel’s hopes of playing for Trinidad and Tobago in next summer’s World Cup finals have been dashed by FIFA.

Samuel has already played for England at Under-18 and Under-21 level and was in the senior squad for the friendly international with Sweden in March 2004 without being used by Sven-Goran Eriksson.
