No Bent for Charlton
Charlton went into today’s Barclays Premiership clash against Bolton without leading scorer Darren Bent.
The nine-goal striker has been struggling with a virus, and so Jay Bothroyd came into the attack.
On-loan Alexei Smertin returned to start in midfield after being ineligible for the midweek Carling Cup win over parent club Chelsea.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce also shuffled his pack after being in cup action, when they beat West Ham.
Greek midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos was not in the squad, while Gary Speed returned to the starting XI, and Jay-Jay Okocha took his place on the bench following a groin problem.
Full-back Ricardo Gardner returned to Premiership action after a one-match ban.
