Jol to wait on Mido decision
Tottenham boss Martin Jol will consider signing Mido on a permanent basis if the Egypt striker continues to impress during his loan spell.
Mido, 22, is valued at around £4.5m (€6.6m) by parent club Roma and his 18-month loan spell at Spurs expires at the end of June.
Jol will wait before making a final decision on the future of the player who has scored three goals so far this season.
Jol said: “If he can maintain his level now, both fitness and good performances, and if he scored 13 or 14 goals, we will probably think about it.
“He is 22, very young. I like him. That is the reason why I have got him on loan for 18 months, not six. I insisted and Roma agreed so I think we did very well.
“The season is long, you never know what happens. Maybe we will wait until near the end of the season, maybe we will act a bit earlier.”
Meanwhile, Wolves have signed Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone on a one-month loan deal.
The 18-year-old, who can also play centre-back, has yet to feature for Spurs’ first team since joining from Derby for £2.5m (€3.7m) over the summer.
“He’s a very good young player who we’ve seen in action for Derby and England U21s,” said Molineux boss Glenn Hoddle, former manager at White Hart Lane.
“He needs to be out on loan because he’s not getting any football at Tottenham at the moment.
“He can play centre-half or midfield so it’s good that he can give us some options.
“He’s an excellent passer of the ball and I just feel at the moment we need a bit of presence in midfield on the defensive side.”
