New controversy for Beckham as he sees red

David Beckham’s credentials to captain England at the World Cup next summer are again in question following his sending-off for Real Madrid last night.

The midfielder was given his marching orders after a double display of petulance in Real’s 2-1 Primera Liga defeat by Valencia at the Bernabeu.
