Craig Bellamy should return to action with Blackburn before the end of October after tests showed no lasting damage to his injured knee.

The Wales striker was forced to withdraw from his country’s World Cup qualification-round matches against Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan due to the injury he sustained early in Blackburn’s 2-0 win over West Brom on Saturday.
