Shearer: Come and join us Owen

Alan Shearer today stepped up the campaign to bring Michael Owen to Newcastle when he proclaimed: “You would be a hero here”.

Real Madrid striker Owen is believed to be wanted by former club Liverpool but has said his second choice would be a one-year loan at beleaguered Newcastle.
