Smith set for midfield start instead of Keane

Alex Ferguson will continue his experiment with Alan Smith as a potential central midfield replacement for Roy Keane in Budapest tomorrow.

The former Leeds player spent all pre-season in the role as Ferguson searches for a successor to his veteran skipper, and with Keane rested from tomorrow’s Champion League return against Debrecen, Smith has been handed another opportunity to impress.
