Souness turns to youth
Newcastle boss Graeme Souness turned to youth for the Barclays Premiership clash with West Ham after losing Kieron Dyer and Emre to injury.
James Milner and Charles N’Zogbia were drafted into the starting line-up with Jermaine Jenas, wrongly sent off last week, retaining his place.
There was also a place on the bench for 32-year-old Lee Clark, who last played for his home-town club on May 11, 1997, following his summer return from Fulham.
Hammers’ boss Alan Pardew made one change to the side which won 3-1 at home to Blackburn on their return to the top flight with Tomas Repka coming in for Christian Dailly.
