Rovers exodus continues

The exodus from Shamrock Rovers has continued with manager Roddy Collins losing four players on free transfers during yesterday’s transfer deadline.

Dave Mooney and Stephen Gough have joined Longford Town, Jason Gavin has joined Drogheda United and Pat McCourt has joined hometown club Derry City.

It leaves Collins’ squad seriously weakened for the remainder of the season although he is still hoping to add Brian Shelley to his squad this week.

The former Bohemians defender originally agreed to join on small wages with an agreement to discuss a proper deal in a few weeks though the forced pay cuts for the squad have forced Shelley to rethink.
