Scholes eyes league title
Paul Scholes has placed the Barclays Premiership title at the top of his wish list for next season.
After two successive third-placed finishes, the Manchester United squad are desperate to avoid another barren championship campaign.
While Chelsea are again spending big in a bid to retain their crown and Arsenal are expected to be contenders despite the loss of Patrick Vieira, the Red Devils camp are leaving nothing to chance in their bid to reach the top.
Boss Alex Ferguson even called his players back for pre-season duty a week early in a bid to ensure there will be no repeat of the stuttering form at the start of last term which ultimately wrecked any hope of a sustained title challenge.
Though the Champions League remains a priority, Scholes feels it is on the home front where United will really be judged over the coming months.
“We want to win everything this season, but every year the tournament that tops the list is the Premiership,” he said.
