Toon time may be short for Souness
Newcastle manager Graeme Souness admits he will do well to stay in the job for another year.
The Scot is the bookies’ favourite to be the first Barclays Premiership boss sacked in the new season.
He has endured a turbulent first 10 months at St James’ Park since succeeding Bobby Robson.
But Souness has vowed face up to the challenge and run the club his way.
“If I last another 12 months in this job I will have done well,” Souness told the News of the World.
“I have to be strong and certainly won’t turn my back on this challenge. There is only one way I will go about it – my way. I have got to be strong and be my own man.
“There have to be standards of discipline on the training field and a code of conduct at the club.”
