Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo insists he is settled at Old Trafford club and that contract negotiations are “going well”.

The Portuguese international has not yet agreed a three-year extension to a contract which still has two years to run but believes he will.

Ronaldo told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo: “We have spoken about the important questions and I believe that I will sign with Manchester United, but still I have not signed the contract to date.

“The negotiations are going well. My agent Jorge Mendes is responsible for this and I expect a happy solution.

“I am happy to sign, but I have two more years on my contract. The proposition is for another three years.

“I am settled at Manchester United, but if the club decides my exit, there is nothing I can do. It is the decision of the coach, but I am happy at United because this is the club where I want to follow.

“It is difficult to talk of a contract for the whole of your career like Carlos Queiroz said.

“No one knows the future, but I intend to fulfil my contract. I reiterate that I am calm about my future.”
