Longford win full-blooded affair at Richmond
St Patrick’s Athletic 0 Longford Town 1
Andy Myler hit a winner for the second week running as three players saw red at Inchicore.
The chief talking point of the first half came on 37 minutes when Town skipper Barry Ferguson was shown a straight red card following an off-the-ball clash with Gerard Rowe.
Town keeper Stephen O’Brien then made a superb save from Keith Fahey’s resultant free-kick.
Town then got their goal on 50 minutes when Alan Murphy galloped away down the right to cross for Myler to volley home.
Saints' Barry Prenderville was sent off on 77 minutes before Dean Fitzgerald was also dismissed minutes from time for kicking the ball away.
