Alonso reveals double incentive

Xabi Alonso is determined to provide the spark which helps Liverpool win the Champions League tonight and end Anfield’s 21-year wait for a fifth victory on the biggest stage in European club football.

But Alonso is also out to score a victory for club and country – the country being Spain, where Liverpool have been adopted as popular favourites for the final against AC Milan.
