Ritchie takes Tykes post full-time
Andy Ritchie has been appointed manager of League One side Barnsley on a permanent basis.
The 44-year-old has agreed a one-year contract at Oakwell following a successful spell as caretaker boss.
Ritchie took the reins at Barnsley in March following the dismissal of Paul Hart and guided the club to a mid-table finish, collecting a manager-of-the-month award along the way.
The former Manchester United and Oldham striker previously spent three successful years as player-boss of the Latics before becoming first-team coach at Oakwell under Hart.
