Cork get first home win against sorry Saints
Cork City 3 St Patrick’s Athletic 1
Cork never looked back once they took a ninth minute lead to earn their first win of the season.
Liam Kearney’s cross was dropped by Saints' keeper Barry Ryan and Kevin Doyle shot home.
Denis Behan doubled City’s lead on 22 minutes when his flick header from George O’Callaghan’s cross beat Ryan.
It was three on 51 minutes with a first goal for former Coventry player Roy O’Donovan, a brilliant run and strike.
St Pat’s consolation came when Cork’s George O’Callaghan turned a Barry Prenderville cross into his own net 10 minutes from time.
