Shearer back in Toon

Newcastle skipper Alan Shearer is back in the squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership trip to Everton after being rested in midweek.

The 34-year-old sat outthe 3-1 victory at Fulham which ended his side’s seven-game wait for a league win and will fight for a return against Patrick Kluivert and Shola Ameobi, who both scored at Craven Cottage.

Lee Bowyer is available after completing his seven-match ban, although he is battling to shake off a hamstring strain, and Celestine Babayaro and Jermaine Jenas are back after hamstring and calf problems respectively.

Amdy Faye and Charles N’Zogbia are both doubts with ankle injuries and Kieron Dyer (hamstring), Nicky Butt (calf), Aaron Hughes (hernia) and Robbie Elliott (thigh) are out.
