FAI defers decision on Rovers licence

The FAI club licensing committee has deferred a decision of whether to punish Shamrock Rovers over problems with their club licence application.

The FAI club licensing committee has deferred a decision of whether to punish Shamrock Rovers over problems with their club licence application.

The Committee met for a marathon four-and-a-half hour session to consider Shamrock Rovers’ response to questions from the FAI relating to accounts submitted by Shamrock Rovers as part of their club licence application in December.

The board of Shamrock Rovers, along with their legal representatives, attended the meeting to answer the FAI’s queries and after two hours left to allow the Licensing Committee to consider their response.

But after a further two and half hours, the Committee had failed to come to a decision and will meet again to discuss the matter further.
