Rio agent warns United must come up with more cash

Manchester United have been challenged to give Rio Ferdinand a contract that recognises him as “the best central defender in the world”.

Doubts over Ferdinand’s long-term future at Old Trafford still remain following the unscheduled meeting between the player, his advisor Pini Zahavi and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon.
