Vieira relishing 'another final'

Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira admitted he is looking forward to another final after the Gunners saw off Blackburn in the first FA Cup semi-final at Cardiff.

Robert Pires gave Arsene Wenger’s team the lead before a late double from substitute Robin van Persie sealed a 3-0 win at the Millennium Stadium.

And Vieira, who missed the 2003 final win over Southampton because of suspension, said after today’s success: “I’m really pleased to be there – we are happy to go to another final.

“We had quite a difficult game at Blackburn so we knew how tough it would be but I think we responded well.

“We kept calm, kept the ball on the floor and played our game.”

Arsenal will take on the winners of tomorrow’s clash between Manchester United and Newcastle at the same venue.

And when asked as to who he would prefer to face, the French international added on Sky Sports: “When you reach a final you are ready to play any team.”
