French referees union president Bernard Saules has expressed support for Swedish referee Anders Frisk who has quit after receiving threats.

Frisk, one of the world’s most famous officials, has decided to call it a day after a difficult season when he was struck by a coin in Rome during the match between Roma and Dynamo Kiev and was fiercely criticised by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho after the London side’s 2-1 first-leg defeat by Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
