Carroll vows to stay at United

Roy Carroll insists he wants to remain at Manchester United next season.

The Northern Ireland goalkeeper, who has lost his place in the United team to Tim Howard, is out of contract in the summer.

He has not signed a new deal on offer and could leave Old Trafford on a free transfer at the end of the season.

However Carroll told UTV’s Football Show: “I’d love to stay. I’ve been at United for nearly four years now and the time has flown by.

“I’ve really enjoyed being at the club and hopefully I can get a few more years under my belt. This is the biggest club in the world and we are always in with a chance of winning trophies and that’s what you want as a player.

“We are still in three competitions at this stage of the season with lots of big games to come against the likes of AC Milan and Chelsea. There is a lot to play for and I hope to be part of that.”
