Home Farm has announced a €1m sponsorship package Ireland following successful talks with Renault Ireland.

The deal and subsequent development works which is being spearheaded by Renault Chairman Bill Cullen will see more than €1m being invested in the club over the next three years.

The aim is to develop the club into one of Europe’s premier soccer academies.

Almost half of the investment is from Renault Ireland, Bill Cullen and the Irish Youth Foundation while other investors include Dept of Arts Sports and Tourism grant aid, club President Tony O’Reilly and existing Home Farm funds.

As part of the deal all Home Farm jerseys will now sport the Renault logo.

It is envisaged that by the year 2008 the club will have three all-weather playing pitches as well as a new clubhouse, dressing rooms and covered stand.

Renault Distributor's chairman Bill Cullen is a former player.

The club has recently installed two all-weather training pitches as well as new dressing-rooms at a cost of €325,000.

Former players include current Republic of Ireland captain Kenny Cunningham as well as Ronnie Whelan, Gary Kelly, Mark Kinsella, Richard Dunne and Alan Maybury.

Bertie Ahern is another former player as is Tony O'Reilly.
