Real Madrid ask for option on Gerrard

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has admitted Real Madrid have asked for an option to sign England midfielder Steven Gerrard.

Parry claims the move by the Spanish giants came while Liverpool were negotiating to sign striker Fernando Morientes in the January transfer window.
