Souness says Bellamy not a top striker

Newcastle boss Graeme Souness fired a parting shot at Craig Bellamy when he told him he does not score enough goals to be regarded as a top striker.

Bellamy’s loan move to Celtic brought a temporary solution to the messy breakdown in the pair’s relationship, but there was no let-up in the war of words as Souness backed Shola Ameobi to be more prolific than the man who has kept him on the sidelines for so long.
