Saints focus on Camara
Celtic’s on-loan striker Henri Camara could spend the rest of the season at Southampton.
Saints boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed he wants to borrow the Senegal international, who is on loan at Parkhead from Wolves for the season.
He told the Daily Record: “We have made an enquiry about Camara and we are trying to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
“I don’t know how close to a deal but (chairman) Rupert Lowe has been in touch with Celtic.”
Celtic paid Wolves £1.5m (€2.2m) to borrow the player, who has contributed eight goals this season.
The Glasgow club had a £200,000 (€288,000) bid for Paul Hartley turned down by Hearts and were understood to be in talks with Stephane Henchoz’s representative last night.
The Swiss defender is close to a decision but one other name in the frame is Poland international Marcin Burkhardt.
The 21-year-old midfielder arrived in Glasgow yesterday for talks having been given permission by his club Amica Wronki.
It is thought that a player whose side were beaten 5-0 at home by Rangers in the UEFA Cup earlier in the season is valued at around £450,000 (€648,900).
