Wrexham comeback holds Posh
Defender Guy Branston scored for both sides as the Coca-Cola League One clash between Peterborough and fellow strugglers Wrexham ended 2-2.
Peterborough had been in front 2-0 but Wrexham scored on the stroke of half-time to turn the tide in their favour.
Posh striker Calum Willock fired his side into an early lead with less than two minutes gone.
Willock latched onto a well-timed pass by Richard Logan and composed himself before firing the ball beyond Wrexham goalkeeper Vicente Valero from the edge of the penalty area.
Manager Barry Fry was a happy man when defender Guy Branston rose highest to power home player-coach Andy Legg’s free-kick from the right flank nine minutes later.
Wrexham began to claw their way back into the match and they got their reward when Juan Ugarte blasting home from close range in first-half injury time.
And the Welsh side’s comeback was completed when Branston cancelled out his first-half goal by deflecting Andrew Holt’s drive into his own net.
In League Two, Northampton moved up to fifth with a 2-1 win over Grimsby after coming back from a goal down.
Thomas Pinault’s cross was headed into the net by Irish striker Michael Reddy to put the Mariners in front after 21 minutes.
But the home side were hit by two quick goals early in the second half. Prolific Scott McGleish turned the ball in less than four minutes after the break before striker Trevor Benjamin left the defence standing Pedj Bojic to head beyond Anthony Williams.
Rock-bottom Cambridge picked up a point from a 0-0 draw at turbulent Mansfield, withstanding a flurry of chances for the home side in the final stages.
