Petta criticises Bolton

Former Bolton triallist Bobby Petta has hit out at the Premiership club for not giving him enough chance to earn himself a deal.

Former Bolton triallist Bobby Petta has hit out at the Premiership club for not giving him enough chance to earn himself a deal.

The former Celtic and Ipswich midfielder, now 30, spent only a few days with Sam Allardyce’s team recently.

“Remarkably enough, I did not get the chance to prove myself during a practice game,” the Dutchman said to AD Sportwereld in his homeland.

“Last Thursday, my agent called me all of a sudden to tell me that the trial was over.

“I think that Bolton see more in Khalilou Fadiga.

“They have him under contract and now they want to go on with him after all.”

Petta also revealed Coca-Cola Championship sides Wigan and Leeds have enquired about his services.

“The past few days, Leeds United and Wigan Athletic have called me,” he said.

“Wigan manager Paul Jewell especially wants to sign me very badly. The chance that I will go to that club is reasonably big.”
